Manifesto
The Dashboard Is Not the Product
Dashboards are easy to screenshot and hard to trust.
They look clean, but behind every chart is a chain of assumptions: what was modeled, what was excluded, what was aggregated, what was secured, what was renamed, what was filtered out, and what someone decided users did not need to see.
Behind the Dash exists to talk about that hidden layer.
What we believe
- 01Users do not need prettier dashboards. They need better decisions.
- 02Operational reporting is a real business need.
- 03A fast dashboard that hides the wrong details is not a success.
- 04The best data products are built with empathy.
- 05Architecture is a user experience decision.
- 06Metrics are not neutral. They carry assumptions.
- 07Governance should create trust, not paralysis.
- 08The dashboard is only the visible layer.
Behind the Dash is for the people who know analytics is not just visualization. It is trust, context, architecture, empathy, governance, and operational reality.
Clean dashboards are nice. Useful analytics is better.
