Privacy Policy

What we collect, and why.

Last updated July 2026.

Behind the Dash is an editorial publication. This page describes the data the site collects from readers and how it is used.

Email subscriptions

If you subscribe on the /subscribe page, we store the email address you submit in our database so we can send you new essays. We do not sell, rent, or share subscriber email addresses with third parties. You can ask us to remove your address at any time using the contact details below.

No analytics or tracking

The site does not run analytics scripts, advertising trackers, or third-party tracking cookies. Fonts are self-hosted at build time rather than loaded from a third-party font service.

Content management API

The site exposes an authenticated content API used only by the site’s own editorial tooling (including AI-assisted drafting tools operated by the site owner) to create and publish articles. This API requires a private access token, is not used to collect or process visitor data, and is not reachable without that token.
